Obliging Opinions

Being an obliging and easy going person has its good and bad points, I guess. You are not the type to sweat over the small stuff. You have practically no bone to pick with anyone. And virtually very little enemies, if any.

The bad part is, when you are not sure about the facts of certain situations, and everyone else around starts imposing their opinions and fears down your throat, the obliging person listens with an open heart and mind. And when too many conflicting opinions come crashing down your senses and goes against your initial gut feel, you become confused and lost. Where once you were confident and ready to brave through the unknown waters, you now have doubts. The joy of the adventure into unexplored terrain has all but disappeared.

The good part is, obliging people normally has friends who are of the same kind. And it takes one obliging person to recognise it in another and say what needs to be said to get that enthusiasm back on track. It's so easy for that obliging person to see things clearly for what they are in their friend's life. But when it comes to their own confusion, then it's their friend's turn to help them see things in a wider perspective and encourage them to do what they know is right. To trust their own gut feel.

All I can say is, thank God for such symbiotic relationships :-)

The portrait of a un-obliging person: "If you know what's good for you, you'll do this and that. And if you don't listen to me, you'll get into trouble and I'll get to say, 'I told you so!'"

*As a fellow obliging person, one of the biggest problems is that people will try to take advantage of your good nature.

Their slogan is "Jim'll do it!"

But you can really shock people when you put your foot down every so often!
