Chapter 2 - A Family Love Affair
Girl A was at her wits end. Her best friends were hopelessly sucking on the longkang rambutans insidiously given by Guy B. They could offer her no intelligible advice saved for the following quibbles.
Rina, her best friend and confidante said in between mouthfuls of sweet, sweet rambutans, "Mmmmmmm.arry this guy already lar. This means more longkang rambutans for us! Lifetime supply summore wor!"
Pebbles gave a cheeky wink, "A, he's darn handsome lar. They don't make guys like this anymore. What are you waiting for?" And proceeded to pop the hundreth rambutan into her mouth.
Rapunzel was nowhere to be seen. Rambutans were not her thing. She was probably joining Papa and Mommy A feasting upon the delicious kampung chicken.
Girl A shook her head in utter dismay. She normally could depend upon her girlfriends for sound advice. And here they were, eating out of the very hands of brutal Guy B.
Her parents were no better.
"What, you think rich men drop from skies everyday meh? Eh, I tell you, don't let this one go ar," was Papa A's stern advice.
Mommy A fluttered her eyes daintily, "Oh, my darling daughter, A. I wouldn't advise you to marry someone you don't love. But oh, you must admit, these chickens are simply scrumptious! Won't you have some, dear?"
Her guy friends were more sane, she felt.
"Tell him you like him, but just as a friend. Guarantee to work wan!" Fooman said confidently while munching on a loaf of bread and editing some Christmas videos.
"Aiya, easy peasy- tell him you love someone else lar. Errrr... Guy C!" Vagus took some time to talk to her before returning to the arduous task of admiring and counting the hair on his legs.
BeerBrat, however, said something shocking. "Eh, A. I think you are falling in lurve lar. Seriously."
Girl A was horrified. She pondered upon his words to search for grains of truth in them. Sure, she was enthralled by B's face and physique. Yes, they do look good together.
But surely, good looks and some chemistry don't make for a long-lasting relationship, right? Right?
