Sun Heartwarmers

Was planning to do something a tad more exciting than spending most of my weekend relaxing at home. But some idiot decided to play football instead. However, in retrospect, it was exactly what I needed. To recharge and rejuvenate.

There are a few heartwarming things that I noted today. Here they are in no particular order:
  • Six crazy people woke up at nearly the crack of dawn on a Sunday morning to convene over a pot of Bah Kut Teh (Pork Rib Tea) in Klang. We were not BKT devotees and most of us normally sleep in like pigs on a weekend. So it was heartwarming to see all of us there, fully alert, eating and yakking to our hearts' content. Food does taste so much nicer in the company of good friends. And of course, nothing beats Klang BKT leh Ahem *Ahem*

  • My cool mom. She's ever-supportive and always have time to hear my prattle and little woes in life. A few days ago, I was reading a book which had the words 'B*tches' boldly emblazoned in the cover. My brother was aghast that I would dare to bring such a book to our family dining table. But mom was so cool about it. She took a look at the book and went, "What are you reading? Oh... something to do with b*tches."

Bro cheekily asked, "So, mom. What do you think b*tches mean?"

She gamely answered, "Fierce women lar!"

I levelled a triumphant look at my bro, "See? I told you mom is cool with these things. No need to hide wan."

Yeah, my mom is our family's perennial heartwarmer.

  • I spotted this person buying something expensive, frilly and pastel in color for someone else. It's the first time I'm ever witnessing this and it tickled my heart knowing that this person has grown to another chapter of his life. Aaah, isn't this romance? Illogical, impractical but so darn heartwarming.

  • Here's to a better week ahead, folks.

*Why don't you go play football as well? It's really fun and extremely rejuvenating! :-) Futsal might be easier.. since it's indoors and less space to run about.

Sounds like your mom is really cool. I cannot relate to my parents like that.. guess the generation gap is really too wide! :-)

*I would have loved to play football had I been invited X-(

My mom had me after she was 35. What's the age gap between you and your mom, Grace?
