Two Crazy Girls in Phuket - Day 2 (Part 2) Nite Life

Rum Fish & Internet Cafe

After Phi Phi, we had a yummylicious seafood dinner somewhere near our hotel. We had clams, calamari rings, and rum fish. The whole meal costs us about RM50, which is reasonable. The rum fish's gravy tasted great and the hot charcoal kept the fish piping hot throughout our meal. Too bad the fish wasn't that fresh though.

After our sumptious dinner, we freshened up and since we had some time before the van picks us up for the Simon's Cabaret show, we paid a visit to the local internet cafe just opposite the hotel. 1 hour for 50 Bahts (RM5), which was a very reasonable rate. Checked my mails, replied to some blog comments and chatted with a few dear souls who happened to be online.

Finally, the moment that we've been waiting for arrived. Prior to Phuket, I've never heard of Simon's Cabaret but the websites that Rina explored have touted this to be a worthwhile watch. Basically, it's a performance that's comprised mostly by drag queens, who looked like stunningly beautiful women.

In preparation of that, my bezzie and I put a little more effort into our dressing and makeup. We want to give Simon's girls a good run for their money mar. I didn't bring any dresses, so had to make do with the travel garb that I brought along.

Behold the real women! No injections, no implants, no surgeries.

Unfortunately, Simon's girls were indeed drop dead gorgeous. So gorgeous that we could only gape in admiration at them.

The show was very well done. Basically, the girls were lip synching the songs and some of them have groovy dance moves. The props and costumes and sound system were awesome. We enjoyed ourselves very much. Worth every sen of the RM50 we spent. A word of warning to the guys: Do not sit on the side aisles nor the front rows. The performers have a tendency to go down the stage to give kisses, hugs and sit on your laps. Heh!

Thai Boxing

After the show, the van driver brought us to a place near our hotel where we can watch Thai boxing for the price of a drink. We also gave the winner some tips after the match.

Basically, almost everything that we do or see in Phuket required money. Even taking photos with the lovely drag queens requires you to give them tips. That's probably the reason why we felt a little better than cash cows during this trip. A bit of a damper, that.

The dark side

After the match, Rina visited the internet cafe while I took a quick walk around the neighbourhood. Truly, the whole area was surrounded with flesh farms. There was this place where I thought was an amusement center (pin ball machines, pool tables and carnival-like lights) but it was actually a place where call girls who are dressed sexily gather and played on those machines while waiting for their customers to pick them up. No wonder the 'bouncer' gave me a strange look when I entered the place. I took one look inside and quickly made a hasty retreat back to the hotel.

The vain pot

Upon my return to the hotel, I still couldn't forget how cool those female impersonators look. Felt rather disatisfied somewhat (boh kam wan) and thus, I decided to take a few photos of myself. Felt happy to see the results. Ok lar, real woman also not too bad lar.

Rina came back and we had a nice long chat before drifting off to sleep.

Stay tuned for our last day capers. Be forewarned, it's darn silly.

*man... the last pic even tho a "mirror" pic.. .is a really nice pic of you.. :-)

as for the "fake women" underneath it all is humanity rejecting the work of God, and relying on the work of man, to make them what they're not...

in principle it's sad, that ppl believe in the lies of the Devil, that they were a "mistake" of God.. it's hard huh?
Men wanna be women.. and women wanna be men.. ... it's tough, and hence we gotta keep on praying for ppl...

I don't know in principle should we revel in going to such shows, in support of the industry and be "entertained" by it.. does it show our support for the industry and for what it stands for?

Man.. dilemma.. rats!! what's with me this morning? why so serious one?? bleah
