Fun at the Curve

Had made some plans to meet up with Rina and Diana for a long overdue girls' nite out. And when Leonard's invitation to Paddingtons came about, I thought it was a great way of combining the two. It was nice revisiting Paddingtons again and work my way through their extensive menu.

And meeting up with Leonard and his pals (Patrick 'Pants On', Chen, JQ, Pauline, Melvin, JJ, Leng Chai, etc - gosh there must have been at least 15 of us there!) was quite a rib-cracking experience. These guys were fun-loving and crazy to a T. Chen kept recommending the very delectable Treasure Box (photo below) and this fruity, ice-creamy, pancakey dessert was really, really yummy. I give it a 4.5 cat's paws rating.

The Treasure Box that you simply must have

I ordered a Sloppy Joe - minced beef with pancakes and fries, but it wasn't as good as the New York nor the Boston (cheesy seafood) Pannekoek. Service was good, although they missed out on poor Patrick's order of a Treasure Box of his own. After dinner, Leonard's gang adjourned to a pub called Clear while we gals decided to hang around for a bit and before proceeding to a karaoke session.

You can tell from the photos below that we had a blast.

The customary pic of bezzie and me pigging out. Rina had New York Pannekoek, while I had Sloppy Joe

Leonard pigging out psycho style. He had the Boston Pannekoek.

Awww... Patrick is camera shy!

*BBrat, Paddington's has two branches - one in The Curve, Damansara Perdana and the other in Sri Hartamas. For specific directions to locate it at The Curve, check out Pat's blog at http://patsanitarium.blogspot.com/

*Kuan, big portions is right. Yr sis and I couldn't finish our huge portions. We should have skipped lunch - then can fit it all into our tummies.

Awww Irene, you should check out their branch at The Curve then. Good excuse to work your way thru their menu!

*Pat, what happened to the monkeys in your head?

We kind of agreed that the Treasure Box tasted better at the Hartamas outlet for some reason, though Al says the scrambled cheese egg (cheese scrambled egg? scrambled egg cheese?) at the Curve was superior. Maybe you should give the other venue a try.

*Hartamas outlet, eh? Yeah, sounds like it's worth paying a visit there. Thanks for the heads up on this, Yap!

*Hrmm... sounds more like a convenient excuse to me... ;-)

CH: Yup, yup, all 206 monkeys all accounted for... :p
#16 Anonymous on 2005-10-05 23:09 (Reply)
*Monkeys? Wat monkeys?

First it was dogs and butts. Now it's monkeys. ruefully shakes... head

*Its... ah... complicated. :p

"*ruefully shakes... head*"

lol!

*"It's complicated" = Universal excuse.

Peh.

*"Its complicated" = You REALLY don't wanna know! (ain't that right Chen Hoe?)

*Complicated? More like brain-cell suicide. You're just lucky he wasn't making Monkey noises with Leonard during dinner, Coolcat.

206? Last I heard there was 200 or was it 199 after the most recent one got strangled? Its just his excuse for behaving the way he does. I think its convenient, considering the REAL explanation might keep us awake... for months.
#21 Anonymous on 2005-10-06 15:04 (Reply)
*It would keep you awake all right... awake with fear! Mwahaha!
#22 Anonymous on 2005-10-06 15:31 (Reply)
*Hmmm, ok. Maybe I should just buat dunno if I hear weird noises from Pat in the future. The consequences of doing otherwise sound rather traumatic.
#23 coolcat (Homepage) on 2005-10-06 22:19 (Reply)
*Sound advice. ;-)

Oh btw, this week's dinner plans are up - you and your friends up for it?
#24 Anonymous on 2005-10-06 23:42 (Reply)
*We shall confirm with you later ;-)
