Rules for Dating My Bezzie

It is undeniable. My bezzie is a sweet, pretty young thing and is always busy managing attention (both wanted and unwanted) from guys.

And we all know how important the opinion of a best friend is. See, if a girl's best friend doesn't like the looks of the guy or if she has even a hint of uneasiness about her bezzie's boyfriend, the relationship will most probably be heading towards a rocky journey. I mean, family aside, who else would know the girl's innermost heart, personality and character? Most importantly, who else can put in a good word to vouch for the boy's character when the girl has doubts about the relationship?

As what the movie Hitch highlighted, if you want to win a woman's heart, you'll have to butter up her bezzie, too.

Ok, so to those of you who are thinking of getting to know my bezzie better, here are a few tips in winning her heart... and my full seal of approval:
  1. Be generous - whenever we go out, whatever you pay or get for her, you get for me, too. This applies to compliments as well. I also accept blank cheques.

  2. Beware the lamp post syndrome - while I do not expect you to exhibit the same PDA (Public Displays of Affection) to me, I would appreciate it if you don't make me feel like a lamp post. Talk to me, get to know me better. After all, the more you know me, the more you will know my bezzie. Birds of a feather stick together mar.

  3. Cook a meal - to me, cooking skills or at least the willingness to cook is a very basic requirement. It shows that you are able to whip out a decent meal for my bezzie if she is feeling unwell and needs some TLC. As such, I would expect to be treated to a home-cooked meal or two. Or maybe three .

  4. Fun times - my bezzie only deserves the very best and she needs someone who knows how to enjoy the simple things in life. Someone who is not serious and dour most of the time. So to all you candidates, please be prepared to shower both my bezzie and I with activities that we deem as fun. It can be anything - picnics, boat rides, pooling sessions, plays, star gazing - we are not THAT fussy and quite easy to please actually.

  5. And most important of all, Be yourself - if you are uncomfortable around me, I would feel uncomfortable as well. And that will ensure a massive drop in your ratings. Massive. So, be yourself, hang loose and just enjoy hanging out with my bezzie and me lar. I promise I won't bite.

Weisguy, wah tough questions. Here's my attempt at answering them:

A1: A guy that fickle-minded needs to go away for a while, take a breather and really sit down and think of what he really wants in life and who he can best share it with. In short, he has to grow up.

Q.2 I know bezzies share a lot but.. boyfren especially hunks can share meh??

A2: Nope, no sharing of guys. That will violate our sacred code.

Q4. If conflict of interest of happens,
bezzies wat wud u do ?

A4: If the guy I like really likes my bezzie and she likes him, too, I won't stand in the way of love. And I think my bezzie would do the same for me. There is no point in manipulating the situation or preventing my bezzie in finding happiness with the guy who likes her back.
