Old or Fat?

A remark from DC upon looking at our pic made me think of this question:

If you had the choice, would you rather look old or fat?

He preferred looking old. While I preferred looking fat.

Reason being, it is easier to lose fat than reverse the process of aging. Plus, guys don't mind looking older than they really are.

Matured face = more stability = wife magnet.

But girls do mind looking older than they really are. A lot.

So tell me, am I right in assuming that?

*So that's why so many women, young and old, love them some William Peterson! I think older is better than fatter too. They send different messages, y'know? I don't have anything against fat people, heck I've put on some pounds since I had to dismantle my home gym and got a job indoors.

If I had to choose an older woman or a fat woman though, I'd have to ask "how fat?" What most women consider fat I don't consider fat, just healthy. There is a limit though. Plus, there's definitely an age limit as to who I'd date too. I imagine that the common interests and peer relatability go even before the looks do.

Hope I didn't offend anybody 'cause that wasn't my intent.

*Ooooh, ok. That's two guys saying yes to looking older.

Sometimes looking older than you are can denote an undisciplined or stressful lifestyle. Not necessarily maturity :-P

*Hi there! Just passing thru the blogosphere when I spotted this

Okay, you can look old and still look good. Fat? Hmmm, a little trickier I think.

Losing fat and reversing ageing is equally easy, if you're rich - just throw money at the problem until it goes away :-P

For the rest of us, both are just equally difficult...

*AGREE! I don't mind looking fat. And for your info, I am 64 kg and it sometimes bother me. But, hey! I can lose weight :-)

Looking old is something that I do mind at the moment as the concept of age-gracefully has yet to develope in mind set. I should get consultation from Oprah for this.

And, aging is not a reverseable process. But, weight is a YES!

*Ah Julian, yes - with $ and lots of plastic surgery and lipo, one can look young and slim for a good many years.

Coffee (wah this reminds me that I haven't had my cuppa today), calit! And yeah, Oprah's cool in matters like these. She's the ultra confident woman.

*Wei wei, being "chubby" is one thing, being fat is another. The former means just failing the pinch test; the latter means...uumm..umm..u know what i mean

*I agree with Papaya_coconut's opinion! You do look fab! Forget about the auntie-like appearance. You'll look fab eventhough you're fat. I bet you're a knock-out when you're in a night gown. really pretty! How I wished to have those beautiful features...(sigh)

*Awwww, Coffee, you made my day, too Hugs Now I don't feel so auntie-ish anymore :-D
#15 Anonymous on 2005-09-28 22:29 (Reply)
*Thanks for the hug :-) Talking about pics, I should be posting some photos of myself, isn't it? Never before I posted my own pic clearly. Suppose I like the idea of being mysterious.

I am thinking about buying myself a digicam. That cost quite a bomb. As I'm thinking about investing my precious time in photography, my fellow bloggers and collegues told me to buy something expensive and well-known ( brand wise ). So, guess that's something to consider isn't it?

*Would love to put a face to such a delicious name leh, Coffee :-D But only if you are comfortable with being un-mysterious lah ;-)

Cameras are reasonably priced these days. If you just need a point-and-shoot digital camera, there are a few good ones that you can get for less than RM700. Or you can check out www.lelong.com.my for cheap second hand ones. It will definitely extend your creativity, go for it!
