Paddington's House of Pancakes

After a week of planning and drooling about it, Pink Rabbit and I finally made it to the Paddington's House of Pancakes at The Curve. Just before we went there, I checked out some reviews from the Net. The two reviews I read mentioned the slow and bad service from the two waiters. One of whom seemed to be in a bad mood.

So we were braced for a real bad service, which thankfully seemed to have vastly improved when we were there tonight. We saw three lovely waitresses and we didn't have to wait long for the food. Although waiting for the bill to come did take a long while. But we were not in a rush, so it was ok.

Now, onto the foodies. Thanks to this review which had my saliva glands working overtime, I already decided on what to eat. A Pannekoek which is pancake generously smothered with mozerella cheese. Mama mia, my mind nearly blew a fuse trying to imagine what that would taste like!

The helpful review also mentioned the ample menu:
For starters, one needs to allocate a fair amount of time to go through the menu, as it is a fairly thick document requiring full focus and concentration.

The degeneration from two cool ladies to two salivating scavengers was instantaneous.
So when the menu came our way, we cooly took it without commenting like a bunch of jakuns about how extensive it was. But upon opening the menu, the sight of those lovely, lovely pancakes made us come undone. The degeneration from two cool ladies to two salivating scavengers was instantaneous.

They have all types of pancakes. There were those that look like hamburgers. Dollar-sized ones. Cheddar ones.

But I was unfazed by the temptation and stuck to my guns and placed my order:
I'll have a New York Pannekoek, please

Pink Rabbit ordered the succulent looking Amsterdam. But even she preferred my Pannekoek because it was really ultra cheesy and full of sun dried tomotoes. All the wholesome goodness your body ever needed on one pancake. Yummy!

When our food arrived, our eyes became as wide as saucers looking at the huge plates. Wah, can finish or not?? But our hungry stomachs and delicious pancakes were a lethal combo. We finished it in record time. Almost licked the platter clean, too. Heh. But seriously, even though the portions looked huge, the pancake was actually thin. In fact, they looked kinda like thin-crusted pizzas with nice toppings.

Unfortunately, the dessert pancake was too cheesy that we couldn't finish it. It was just too rich! I couldn't remember the name of the dessert though.

Anyway, Pink Rabbit and I left the place feeling satisfied and about RM50 (total bill) poorer - yeah, the first review said they were not cheap and the second review mentioned that they play elevator type of music. Tonight they played Norah Jones' latest album. Nice...

We would definitely go back there again to check out their other offerings.

*OMG! I really need to go to the Curve. I've only been there once and by that I mean going into the main entrance, seeing many shops not open and leaving within the span of 3 minutes.

*Kerfy, I was soooo tempted to try that yesterday! It's the one that looks like a hamburger and comes with fries, rite? drool drool

Pebbles, got sweet pancakes. The 'too-rich' one we had after our main course was such. Came with ice-cream and strawberries. They've got other yummy ones, too like Treasure Box. We bring you there one day soon, ya? Missed ya yesterday :-(
