A Look Towards Yonder...?

Mr. Y saw my blog for the first time today and commented that my jottings are like 'a yearning for yonder'. I wonder what he really meant by that. But he told me to look it up instead. And added that it could be influenced by his avid reading of Enid Blyton books.

So I am guessing that maybe he's saying that my writings are an expression of wanting to be somewhere better than I am now. With a constant hope that things will turn out all right in the future.

I guess he's right, in a way. God knows there are things that I wish I was doing instead of what I'm doing now. Places that I've been longing to go since the first Enid Blyton book captivated my imagination.

But that doesn't mean that I'm discontent. After all, if we believe that there is a God, we then believe that we are made with a greater purpose in mind. And this great purpose is the one that propels us forward. The longing to be all that we can be.

I hope that's what Mr. Y meant. But even if it's not, his comments reminded me of my desire to know this God more and see my place in the grand scheme of things.

*Beautiful post. You put into words the same things I feel :-) And I do believe Mr Y's comment was a compliment! Unfortunately, people reading my blog will probably think, "Poor tortured soul" :-P

*Thanks, Irene :-) I think we are all tortured souls at one point or another. You just choose to document it publicly that other fellow pilgrims can find great encouragement knowing that they are not alone.

Hee yeah, methinks Mr. Y meant it as a compliment, too. He did say some other very nice things about my blog, too. But shy to post it bcos it may seem so vain :-P
