My Directors



Chris Leow was our official director for A Little Less Conversation. But this nearly 8-year old girl (daughter of my stage bezzie) has helped me portray the frustrated housewife role to a T.
Little Director (LD): Auntie Coolcat, when you were scolding your husband, what emotions were you trying to portray?

Me: Uhmmm, frustration, I guess.

LD: Well, what comes across was actually... confusion. Like you weren't sure what you are supposed to feel.

Me: Oh, really? Wow, thanks for the feedback. It's very helpful and I'll do as you suggested tomorrow for the final show.

LD: No problem!

Man, the little girl really spoke sense. And I rehearsed and put her suggestions into practice - and felt thoroughly frustrated with my husband - as I should, on stage.

After the show ended, I went over to her and asked what she thought of our performance. More specifically, my frustrated scene.

LD: Yeah, you did well today. It was a great show!

*Kids are so honest, and kids with a gift for what we're doing make great sounding boards. That's the toughest thing about taking kids fishing. They always catch the biggest!
