The Boss Calls

My boss calls me for the oddest reasons. All of it car-related.

• When I left my car lights on


• When I left my petrol cover open


• When I left my car door still unrepaired

Here's the conversation that just ensued:

Boss: Hmmm, did you just get into another accident?
Me: Errr, no. You must have seen the damage from the last accident I had.
Boss: Oh, ok. I thought you were that unfortunate to be involved in yet another accident so soon.
Me: Heh, no lar. I'm not that 'lucky', boss.
Boss: Hahahaha!

I hung up feeling weird. Like I'm being appraised by how I handle my car. Yeah, I guess he's just being concerned and kind by reminding me to switch off my car lights and all. Still, I hope he doesn't expect me to take care of my car the way he does with his. Not a single scratch and carefully parked so that it would not have a chance of being scraped by someone else's car door.

But since I am still gainfully employed, I'd like to think he's just showing concern in his own special way lar.
