Manufacturing Chemistry ~ The Outcome

Here's the report in Q&A style:

Present:
C
Ariel

Apologies:
nil

1. How did you guys prepare for the 'date' on that very morning?

C washed his car.
I washed my hair.
And it had to rain when we left our last hangout place.

2. Where is this Italiano place anyway?

Cafe Melise wasn't exactly Italiano - more like a generic Western fare kinda place. To C's chagrin, I've actually been there before. But it's a nice place, and being a regular there he knew the people who worked there. We had fun introducing each other as our date for the night. Which appeared to be very unconvincing, because people out on their real first dates normally try keep it as low key and inconspicuous as possible.

3. So, what did you guys do?

We ate, we talked and then we proceeded to have a drink at The Curve.

Basically, we started out knowing next to nothing about each other. So we got to work even on the journey there itself. Lots of questions tossing back and forth. Talked about everything from Stallone to Stairway to Heaven (a Korean serial).

We discovered lots of things, places and people we know in common - yaay for having something to build upon. And lots of differences, too - yaay for diversity.

4. Overall, how would you rate the 'date'? Did it spark off any chemistry?

Quite good actually. It was pleasant and fun getting to know someone that we normally wouldn't get the opportunity to hang out with because we actually belong in vastly different social circles.

We started that evening as strangers and we ended it as pals. I think the more we knew about each other and where the other person was coming from, the more comfortable we feel with one another. Hope that shows in the project that we are working on.

Prepared by,
Ariel
