Am I A Hypochondriac?

Been having an on-and-off fever, headache and joint pains since Friday. Loss of appetite, too - which is definitely a sign that something is not right somewhere. Me, not wanting to eat - how can?! And now am having the chills, brrrrr! Oh no wait, now I feel feverish. Urgggh...

One of my colleagues is on medical leave today for suspected dengue fever. That certainly made my imagination go wild. Yikes, I sighted a red spot on my arm today. Egads, could that be a rash?? Does that mean that I may have dengue fever? Or malaria? Gulp

The good thing about this is sitting next to my concerned and helpful girl assistant. She gave me some yummy Uncle Toby's to tide my stomach before I took my panadols. And also some packets of herbal tea to cool my system.

Now am wondering if I should go for a blood test or something.

Nah... I'll wait for a few more days. Am a scaredy cat when it comes to needles, blood extractions and such :-P

*has there been a dengue outbreak at your area?
the constellation of fever, joint and muscle aches are fairly nonspecific and probably imply that this is a viral syndrome.
if in doubt, get yourself checked lor. they can always do a simple blood test to look for problems

*yeah.. CC, go for a bloodcheck. We missed you at rehearsals yesterday.. I dunno how the mahjong session went, but the 3 stooges scene was quite ok.. still tweaking.. :-)

*Thanks for the prayers and advice, guys. Went to see the doc. Good news - not dengue. Bad news - might be something else, which I hope a change of diet and taking lots of water will help. Do continue to pray for complete recovery, thanks :-)

*Lots of water and many small meals throughout the day. It keeps your energy constant and you don't get weighed down by a heavy meal.

I snack on Almonds and fruit a lot, and I just bough that "Magic Bullet" processor dohickey and I plan to start making my own healthy smoothies.

Still praying!

*Updates: I still feel the same as yesterday but at least knowing WHY I am sick helps a lot. Thanks for the helpful advice, concern and prayers. Am very touched and blessed to have friends like you :-)
