This poem is waaay overdue and it probably won't win any prizes. But dad, this one's for you...
Growing up I was no angel
Must have given you gray hairs 'cos I tend to rebel
But over the years, your wisdom shines through
And I learned that it (sometimes!) pays to listen to you
On the home front, you are our protector
Defender and faithful provider
No matter how tough times can be
You never let us kids have a day of worry
Your love for mom is as strong as the day you wed
You never strayed, gambled nor got into debt
Even to this day, you made sure we are all okay
And we know that you are always a call away
So, I guess I just wanted to say
In my own quirky time and way
A message that comes from my heart so true
That I cannot wish for a better father than you.
I love you.
Happy Father's Day.
