Mr and Mrs Smith

It was either this or Madagascar. The majority of my cell members chose this movie.

And so we watched it today after waiting in much anticipation for it. I think I went with high expectations. After all, I thought it had all the right ingredients.

- Sultry Angelina Jolie (one of my favourite actors!)
- Two people who are married for years not knowing of each others' secret identities

I love stories like the Scarlet Pimpernel and True Lies where the wives thought their husbands to be losers when in actual fact, they were busy saving the world. Makes for a good story and romance, methinks. Heh.

I guess that's what created such a high expectation in me with regards to this movie. Unfortunately, I found it to be rather boring and bland. The actions weren't enough to keep me from dozing off every now and then. There was not much chemistry between the two leads. And there were no memorable lines. Heck, even the James Bond movies had lines that I can still remember to this very day!

However, some friends said that this movie was better than kiddy-ish Madagascar. The thing I noticed was that the younger ones amongst us seemed to enjoy Mr and Mrs Smith more than the older ones. They were giggling away at some of the scenes where I was struggling not to yawn at.

So to be fair, my opinion of this movie may be influenced by the age factor biased. Go and watch it if you must. And bring some Cool Air along just in case you need it ;-)
