The Things You Learn From Forwarded Mails

My assistant, in all his 27 years, has never learned how to tie his own neck tie. And was pretty cool about it, too. His brother has been tying it up for him all these while.

But his state of ignorance came to an end two days ago when he received a gem of a mail amongst the swamp of forwarded mails he receives daily. It was a lesson on how to knot ties - in pictorial format. And results are guaranteed.

See the photos below if you are not convinced:

Day 1 (after learning to tie the Windsor Knot):

Not bad... but a bit short though.

Day 2 (after online lesson):

Wah lau eh, very smart!

Below are the graphical lessons. Ladies, this is a very important skill if your partners are clueless about doing up their own ties. They have no choice but to go to you before leaving home, and can't escape without a goodbye kiss. Heh!

*Aiyo, should have guessed that'll be your favourite part of all ;-) Too bad you can already knot your own ties.

Muahahahah... he really didn't have a choice - me being his boss. But I did ensure him anonymity and all - what to do, me so kind mah.

*I learned the Prince Albert when I was young, but I like that first one a lot. I think I'll try that later!

*must take a vote.. I am on the TREND knot.. i always thought it was called double knot.. taught to me by my dad when i was 16..
I find it the easiest.. to get out off.. doesn't leave knots in your tie after you take it off!!
#11 Anonymous on 2005-05-20 13:41 (Reply)
*Paul.. you seem to be in a hurry to get out of your clothes.
Hmm... interesting. ;-)

*Guys in ties look really smart! It also give the ladies an excuse to save the men in distress ;-) ahahaha..

*Actually ties remind me a lot about a hangman's noose... erk

String 'im boys! whack and then left dangling imagining the cowboy western films

*Vagus, behave! This is a family-friendly site woh :-P Else will get Uncle Paul to whip ya - hmmm, he seems to have a fetish for all things whippy, eh? Heh.

But me glad that the tie tips are helpful to most of you. My assistant conveys his greetings, says that he's not ill-treated at all and is glad that he's making a difference in your lives. Now, where can you find people like that anymore? Me so blessed!
#15 Anonymous on 2005-05-20 23:52 (Reply)
*You know, I was a prefect in Form 5 (only one year) and I never learnt how to knot my tie. I could never get the hang of it, so I just never undid the knot -- only slipped the "noose" over my head all the time :-P
#16 Anonymous on 2005-05-21 04:50 (Reply)
*Now I know that the way I tie ties is called Windsor. Passed down from my father :-D
#17 Anonymous on 2005-05-21 09:18 (Reply)
*Heh - I think one way's enough for me ;-) And it's not like I need to know how anymore. But it's surprising to know people who don't tie their own ties.

My dad taught me how when I was in Form 1. Been doing fine all the while. Didn't know there were so many ways...
#18 Anonymous on 2005-05-21 11:41 (Reply)
*Irene - omigosh... who tied it for ya when you wash that tie? Or... you didn't wash it at all during that one year?

Heh, good for ya girls. Your future partners will be thankful for your tie-tying knowledge ;-)
#19 Anonymous on 2005-05-21 13:40 (Reply)
*Future partners..tying ties for them.. or ways and means to "string 'im" .. hi hi hi..

Wah.. not only tie the knot.. but also tie another knot around the neck tight tight... erk.. erk.. choking pengsan
#20 Anonymous on 2005-05-22 08:58 (Reply)
*That's quite a way of putting it into perspective, Paul. Hmmmm.... :-)
#21 Anonymous on 2005-05-22 11:19 (Reply)
*Coolcat -- my dad tied it for me, of course :-)
#22 Anonymous on 2005-05-23 06:37 (Reply)
