The Kingdom of Heaven Outing

The movie was a real let-down.

It didn't help matters any when my colleague had practically told all the highlights of the movie to me - before I was even aware of what she was doing. For most part of the show, I sat in a sort of a numb daze. I knew everything that was going to happen and when the best line of the movie was uttered and made the audience laugh, I felt like weeping in frustration.

But my two other pals, Rina and Paul did not enjoy the movie much either. And they didn't know the spoilers because as a respectable movie goer and good friend, I didn't let a peep out. So, the conclusion is, the movie is quite bad lah.

We felt that the lead character was mis-cast, and that the soundtrack did not do the story line any justice nor evoke any strong emotions in the audience. Even the character development was not well done - it portrayed the hero as having very contradictory values in life.

If you still want to watch it, don't say I didn't warn ya ;-)

But the company was great and we had a great time of fellowship.

*glad to hear 1 woman so far admitting it was a let-down. other blogs I've been too all just speak of putting their saliva all over orlando bloom. sheesh!

anyway, other than the war scene at the castle, the script also was written badly in some parts.

Orlando: "what is jerusalem worth?"
Saladin: "nothing..."
[walk]
Saladin: "everything.." with fists clenched.

Come on, that's just dumb.

*Hi Danny, yeah, those lines were kinda lame. But the speech where Balion gave to motivate the newly knighted warriors has to take the cake. "Let them come!" Errr... that's like the reverse of motivation leh.

Vagus, haven't watched The Interpreter yet. You watch and let us know if it's worthwhile lar :-)

Hi Lee, were you working there before?

Rina, sorry lah for the bigger-than-life perspective. I thought it's just too cute to be shrunk :-P

Kuan, both of us have the same tastes when it comes to our favourite Rina pose. Heheheheheh...

*Don't really like to movie. Storey was quite predictable. Didn't like the actor because he is such a pussy in Troy. (but quite cool in LOTR) ...feel weird in how he pick his roles

*Let's hope he picks the right one next time. He's good in his role in Pirates of the Carribean, too.

*I had a gut feel that the movie would suck. :-) Thanks for the confirmation. And oh, what a big plate of noodles. Hhhehh!

*well, doubt i can give you an unbiased opinion on the Interpreter if i watch it. I've had a lifelong crush on Nicole Kidman (kinda like your Grissom-Gaga syndrome).
perhaps i'll catch SWIII this Thursday if i get off work early.

*Ha, James - suddenly I feel very saintly saving you guys all that money :-) Hope the Kingdom of Heaven producers don't slaughter me. Oooh ya, about the noodles, we were hungry that night and the place serves big helpings :-)

Vagus - the gaga syndrome is very understandable. Anyways, I love watching movies without knowing anything about it - it's like looking at it from a fresh and unbiased perspective.

I kinda dread watching SWIII because you-know-who will end up as Darth Vader. But it'll be incomplete not to watch the link to the later (or earlier??) and much better SW episodes.
