Crazy Twit? Please say no!

Met DC, a fellow blogger today and the first thing he said was, "You blog a lot, eh?"

Wah, this is like the pot calling the kettle black leh. His blog word count normally way surpasses mine! But I was interested to find out what he thought of my blog.

"Nice pictures!" was the answer I got.

Apalah. From someone whom I thought was very verbose, this two-worded reply came as quite a disappointment. Or maybe he was just being wise. Hmmmm...

Well, never mind DC. In the recent months, I was thrilled to find that some of you thought my blog was cool and posted such encouraging posts and referred me on your blogs. Some of you posted your feedback via e-mail. Thanks taking the time to encourage me and it's nice to know that my blog did some good to you. Even if it's only to cheer your day up a little, I'm pleased as a pie.

Other comments received about my blog and blog persona are as follows:
  • Crazy twit

  • Almost profound - notice the word almost?? Heh!

  • Positive outlook

  • A safe place

  • A corner

  • Awe-inspiring

  • Wow

I guess DC's answer about my blog is understandable. After all, he's a profound thinker and me, I'm just a twit.

Ah, but you guys don't all think so, right? Because if I'm a twit, then my discerning blog readers would have to be known as twitters.

And we can't have that, now can we?

Seven

Birthdays are a good time for reflection. But they can be pretty depressing times, too. Especially when you realise that you are not where you feel are supposed to be, doing what you are born to do. That kinda thing.

Anyway, Beer Brat tagged me with something which caused me to reflect on the things that people normally reflect upon on their birthdays, new year's eve and other significant events. Here it is:

Seven things you plan to do before you die (I have lots of these but will share the appropriate ones for public consumption):
1. Go to Europe
2. Learn ballroom dancing
3. Complete the Annapurna circuit
4. Have my book(s) published
5. Be married to my dreamboat
6. Get barefoot, pregnant and happy
7. Inspire my youths to live out their dreams

Seven things I could do:
1. Play the guitar... badly
2. Play the keyboard... worse than the guitar
3. Cook, bake, sew - skill level worsens in ascending order
4. Type real fast
5. Read even faster
6. Sing in alto
7. Strike a pose

Seven Celebrity crushes:
1. Pierce Brosnan
2. Michael Vartan
3. William Petersen
4. Dermot Mulroney
5. Tom Cruise
6. Dennis Quaid
7. Harrison Ford

Seven often repeated words:
1. Aiyo
2. Aiya
3. You see!
4. Terrible lar u!
5. Hahaha!
6. OMG
7. So bad!

Seven physical traits I look for in the opposite sex:
1. Cheerful smile
2. Intelligent, scholarly look
3. Sparkling eyes
4. Tanned skin
5. Broad shoulders
6. Biceps - indicates strong arms
7. Healthy mop of hair

Ok, I'm done. Phew!

And since it is my birthday, I'm going to be benevolent and not tag anyone, except for my bezzie, Rina. Hah, that's the benefit of being my best friend. I happy, you happy. I get tortured, you can't escape it either. Heheh!

Missing - One Travelbug

Talking to some friends who are jet-setting reminded me of the disease I once had. Travel-itis.

A few months ago:
Jet-setting Friend (JF): Hey, I'm going to Barbados next week!
The Old Me: Wah, so syiok! (Inwardly thinking: Aiyo, I wish I could go, too. If only I can fit into your luggage or something hor?)

A few hours ago:
JF : Hey, I might be going to Florida next month!
The New Me: That's sounds nice. (Inwardly thinking: Wah, am I glad I'm not going for any long trips soon. So lazy to pack lar, wake up early lar and then come home must unpack and do laundry lar. So mar fan!*)

Hey, I guess I'm cured!

Or maybe I'm just getting really lazy these days.

* mar fan - inconvenient
