Aha Moments

A friend of mine recently gave birth to a baby boy. His name is Zeth. His older sister is Amelia. Lo and behold as I was battling the jams to work yesterday morning, a revelation suddenly hit me. Their first child's name starts with the first letter of the alphabets and the second child's name starts with the last of the alphabets. Alpha and Omega. The Beginning and the End.

Could it be that they have decided to stop at having two kids?

When I shared my revelation to them, the handsome couple confirmed it with a smile. "Wah, you pick things up very fast ar!"

"Yeah, but I wish I didn't guess right. You two produce such lovely babies! The world could use a few more cutie pies."

That was my AHA moment. These are moments where something suddenly makes avid sense to you.

Paulos had an AHA moment as well back in his college days in Aussieland (a very long time ago before the days of Google or Wikipedia *ahem*). The Aussies love their Four and Twenty pies. So curious Paulos got to thinking, "Why did they choose such a name as their brand?"

Lo and behold, it suddenly hit him days later that their branding has probably something to do with this nursery rhyme which has the line 'Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie'! Well, it hardly sounds appetizing but it sure is a cool name for a Pie Company. Turns out that Paulos was right, too! I just checked out their website.

So that was Paul's AHA moment. What's yours?

*Trivia for the day: Four-and-twenty used to be the old way of saying 24!

(This is what you learn when you read romance novels set in the regency era :-P)
