Two computers, One Brain

Been working with two computers and surprisingly, I got more work done this way. While one computer is busy processing stuff and transfering files, I could immediately work on something else on the other computer.

Maybe I should try working with three computers next. Triple the productivity level :-P

*You need two monitors -- dual head configuration. Get a video card that has 2 video outputs and get another monitor. Seriously, the productivity gain is significant.

When I was writing my thesis, I had a 3 display configuration.

My Mac notebook had monitor spanning activated, and I was running Synergy server on my Linux box. I ran my simulation/optimization code on my Linux box while writing my thesis on my Mac.

I had the displays side-by-side. My desk looked like a stock trader's console.

I was so productive.

*You can try http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/ to control two or more PC with ONE set of keyboard + mouse. :-)

*Sounding suspiciously like a "one leg two boats" case to me.

*Fooman, or design that bicycle computer that you've always wanted. The one that performs the faster harder you cycle. LOL!

LcF and Paul, wah, grreat ideas! And Paul, I'm glad I'm not alone in my theory that two computers to one person does increase productivity by leaps n bounds. You are a living testimony!

BB, that's because you ain't tried it out yet :-P
