Nosy Parkers Should Get a Life of Their Own

I know it's the New Year and all, and I shouldn't get so riled up about things. But I have a good mind to tell nosy parkers off when they start the conversation with:

"Wah, why you still single? Why you so choosy wan? Better get married - it's not good to be single."

My retort would be, "You know what? I was happy and contented with life until you said that. Now I know that I'm incomplete without a life partner and life is indeed depressing and hopeless until I find one. Now I'm depressed. Thanks. Thanks a fat lot."

Sorry, just have to get this rant off my chest. See, a friend was a recent victim of those nosy parkers and it ails me to see him so blue. Garn, I wish these people would find something better to do with their time than harrass us singles with such pointless questions. Like paint their toe nails or something. At least their toe nails would look prettier and thank them for it.

Gah.

*I get it so often, but not to the point of getting married. Just "You know you should get a boyfriend...Why you don't have a boyfriend? You must be picky"...blablabla...

A friend of mine who's still single get it so often from her best friend and her boyfriend that she's now desperately need a guy.

I'm tired of all these...

Bipoo, yeah, the way these nosy parkers go, singleness is viewed as a handicap, rather than a perfectly valid and healthy status of life.

Buffy, just goes to show that there is no point in getting hitched just for the sake of being married. Since it's supposed to be once in a lifetime commitment, one should only enter into it circumspectly and after careful consideration.
