There's No Place Like Gems

Met up with some very fun and wacky people for dinner at Gems. Some of them I haven't met in ages! Well, technically the pictures below were taken at Lotus Restaurant (same row as Gems) but we had dinner at Gems before they chased us out to make room for 4 bus loads of Indian tourists.

The whole time we were there, 4 friendly waiters were attending to us. They enjoyed our very lively and boisterous patronage. When the tour buses arrived and we were kicked out, we haughtily took our leave and told them that we were going to the Lotus restaurant located at the other end of the row.

"We're are going to give business to your competitor!" Twinnie and I wagged our fingers at the hapless Gems' waiters before marching regally away.

After we settled ourselves at Lotus, ordered our drinks and everything, one of the Gems waiters walked into the shop. He handed Annie the notebook she had left behind. We were so touched by the extra mile the Gems staff would go through for their beloved customers. Very, very different from the cold icy treatment we got at Lotus for making so much noise and posing for pics.

Also, it was good that we informed the Gems people where we were going so that they knew where to look for us!

Can't wait for the next photo taking session this Sunday. I must must must find a coconut tree to pose like they do in a Hindi movie!
